Chamber of secrets is the comedy of the series... - Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Reviews

Harry Potter? Funny?? Well, yes littluns it is. You see, the first movie was really very boring as it had to build up all the background for the next movies and the third was action packed and very emotional. The Chamber of Secrets sits somewhere in between, not the original and no deep and meaningful plot. So what does it become? A comedy of course! If you haven't already noticed, Harry Potter and the Chamber is filled with funny scenes and stupid things that really don't make sense. It begins innocently but Harry soon becomes sarcastically rude. For example, when Harry stays at Ron's house (the Burrow)and Mr Weasley asks him a question about muggles Harry simply rolls his eyes and ignores the dear old man. The movie completely loses control after this! Firstly, Harry and Ron smash into the barrier with their trolleys and go flying back through the air. This scene is definitely created for laughs. When they fly to school in the magic car things just start to get stupid. Ron says excitedly gripping the steering wheel: "We must be getting close!" and then the train just about runs them down. This part wasn't in the book and is an insult to the character's intelligence. Why would they be flying so low? Then Harry falls out the door and Ron tells him to hold onto to his hand. Harry replys: "I can't! Your hands all sweaty!" What the hell? What does this have to do with the story? Then they crash into the Womping Willow which is a great scene but comedy none the less. The rest of the movie is filled with lines like: "Why does it have to be follow the spiders? Why can't it be follow the butterflies?" Ha ha, we love Ron. But for what? His loyalty? His bravery? No, for the humour he brings to the movies! One of the funniest scenes is when Harry is reading Riddles diary. He has a lisp or something because after every word he makes a strange sound like he's eating peanut butter. Don't believe me? Turn the volume up and listen for yourself. It's worth it. Overall, I enjoyed this movie. The book was a lot better but that can be expected as all the movies don't quite make the cut. A lot of this movie sucked but the comedy made up for all of that. Well done Chamber of Secrets! You truly are a comedy!!
